Sample Question with an answer for Essay
Sample Question 01
Traffic Jam Essay – The traffic congestion has increased massively across the globe. The government has proposed a solution to raise taxes to reduce the traffic jam. What is your view on this?
Traffic jams are becoming one of the topmost urban problems for the authorities of highly populated cities around the world. Traffic jams lead to many other difficulties such as road rage, air pollution, etc. To overcome this issue, people suggested to impose taxes on drivers but before coming out to any decision, we will first discuss its advantages and disadvantages.
The use of car drivers is increasing every year at a very increasing rate so it caused congestion on the traffic. Some countries impose taxes for car drivers and improve the quality of public transport to solve the traffic problem. The government should encourage society to change public transportation so that the congestion on the traffic can be solved.
Levying taxes is not an appropriate answer to the problem of traffic jams for numerous reasons also. Owners of private vehicles generally belong to the rich class. Imposing taxes does not affect the rich class as they can pay taxes easily. Most of the middle and lower class travel through public transport which could not affect them also. Secondly, the gap between poor and rich increases. Higher taxes means a higher expense for the driver which results to increase in the price of services. This will contribute to inflation and put a great burden on the economy of the country.
In a nutshell, I believe that its good to levy taxes for car drivers and then these funds must be used to improve the quality of public transport. This will be a suitable solution for solving the issue of a traffic jam.
Sample Question 02
Animals are a major part of the environment and their rights are a highly debatable topic. Generally, animals are exploited by humans; so there is a huge need to protect animal rights as soon as possible. In today’s society, animals deserve just as much freedom as humans.
Write animal rights essay in your own words in around 300 words.
The ethics surrounding teach us that certain things are wrong if done to the animals, so avoid doing respective things. For instance, many experiments on animals were done by scientists and doctors. Non-human rights extend to not allowing animals to be used for hard work like donkeys. Animal beings are not supposed to be hunted for food at any cost because they also have the right to live. Animals should not be used for entertainment purposes also like for zoos where they tied up and lost their freedom.
Government and NGO’s came forward to spread the awareness of animal rights. Major religions like Hindu, Sikh, Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism teach us about the rights of the animals. Teaching is very important and individual role also plays a significant role to protect animal rights. For instance, Animal law is taught in 119 out of 180 law schools in the United States and 8 law schools of Canada. But we are far behind in understanding animal rights.
In conclusion, I believe that animals give many benefits to humans. They can help improving human life, especially provide food. However, for animal rights, people should treat them in good ways. I agree that animals deserve to be treated well but it does not mean that they must be treated as equal as humans.
Sample Question 03
Gender Equality Essay – Women can do everything that men can and they even do it better. They also can do many things that men cannot. But there is a fact that their work is not appreciated as men’s although they have to sacrifice a lot for their family, and career. So someone said: “A woman’s place is in the home.
What do you think? Write an essay in around 200 – 300 words.
The impact of changes on women’s role in society has been hotly debated in recent times. Some people think that women are better at domestic chores than being involved in social matters, yet I firmly believe that gender equality benefits society in many ways.
Firstly, it is largely considered that workplaces are dominated by males. Although this is not evident for young professionals, female leaders and managers are barely seen when it comes to the higher level of positions. For example, a recent IMF data shows that the number of female CEOs in advanced nations is only 20% of the workplace compared to those of males. Furthermore, the percentage of women involved in the leading level of posts in developing countries are merely seen. This is due to various factors such as religious and cultural issues, ultimately proving fewer opportunities for women who wish to work in society rather than staying at home.
However, there are some advantages which could be brought up in favour of women’s participation in the workplace. Take for example some private companies are now encouraging paternity leave as well as maternity one. This enables male workers to spend more time with their children if their partners were to agree to look after living expenses. Using the system that is proposed recently at workplaces, couples are encouraged to be varied, hence more security and flexibility.
Overall, it is true that males and females have different preferences in terms of physical and mental attitudes, but I think that equal opportunities are imperative and bring advantages significantly to both males and females in the 21st century.
Sample Question 04
What roles should governments, companies & individuals play to combat climate change?
Complete the topic within 20 minutes. Write a 200-300 word essay.
The earth has been witnessing a change in global climate for quite some time as a result of which the average global temperature has increased by one degree Celsius in the last two decades. While some environmental scientists think that climate change is happening naturally, the matter of the fact is that human activities have endangered the global climate. Concerted efforts by all individuals, Government, and organization, are needed to save the sanctity of nature.
The government has a significant role to play in exercising control on factors contributing to global warming, as it is a maker of legislation in a country. The transport regulatory body should make stringent rules to control the emission of Carbon monoxide and toxic gases from vehicles and factories alike. The government should organize awareness programs to educate the masses about rising temperature and their role in combating climate change problem.
Apart from the government’s interference, industries, too, should contribute to protecting the environment; by developing sustainable solutions and products which run on green energy. Individuals can do their part by using renewable sources of energy, reusing non-decomposable material such as plastic bags and composting food waste & opting for public transport instead of private vehicles.
In my opinion, the pace at which trees are being cut down for industrial use must be reduced. Government, Corporation and NGO’s should encourage individuals to use green energy such as Solar energy, geothermal and wind energy. Furthermore, the use of public transport, adapting to digital means to save paper and afforestation can help fight climate change and reduce global warming to a high level.
Sample Question 05
Forests provide us with the most vital element for our survival. Destruction of forests in the world by human beings means self-destruction.
Complete the topic within 20 minutes. Write a 200-300 word essay.
There is no denying in the fact that Forests are of utmost importance to the whole of the humankind. Other than maintaining the right balance in the environment, they act as habitats and shelters to millions of species. However, they are depleting at a much faster rate as we are selflessly utilizing trees for fuel, building houses, paper production and for our endless needs. And it does mean the destruction of forests in the world by human beings means self-destruction. We will try to support the subject with valid points and examples where ever necessary.
Forests and trees are vital for every living being as its a great source of life and support future life. Food and shelter are not only vital for us but most of the terrestrial species of animals, plants and insects depend on the forest for their survival and rapid cutting of tress is taking away their habitat and making the survival of this magnificent biodiversity difficult.
More than 80% of the world’s species remain in the Tropical Rain-forest and due to their loss of habitat, most of the species of animal and plants have already extinct or are in the category of endangered species which potentially pose a greater loss to humankind.
Global warming is known to be a great threat to humankind and trees play a key role in absorbing the greenhouse gases and in carbon storage. Plants utilize carbon-dioxide to make their food and in return provides oxygen. As a result of deforestation, carbon-dioxide will remain in the atmosphere. Carbon Dioxide contributes much to global warming and as a side effect, we are already facing extreme weather events including rising of sea level.
Also, forests act as a vital source of fresh water supply. The researchers have found that cutting down trees dramatically reduces the amount of rain that falls in that area, thus there is a decrease in the water supply.
In the 1930s, drought and dust storms greatly damaged the ecology and agriculture of the US and Canadian prairies. The unanchored soil turned to dust and blew away with the prevailing winds. During the period, tens of thousands of families were forced to abandon their farms and migrate to other places.
The signals that our Mother Earth is giving is quite visible and is giving us the warning that rapid depletion of the forest is causing major changes in the environment which involves our self-destruction. If we do not stop exploiting our ecosystem now, a stage may come where it may become impossible to repair it.
